General Review: This review is for the discontinued Lenny Lamb "Mei Tai." It has been replaced by the newer "Wrap Tai," but frequently pops up for sale on the babywearing swaps or in clearance sections of stores. This one can be found in the Monday lending library, and there is another in the Sunday lending library.
This meh dai baby carrier can be used for front and back carries, and is tied to custom-fit the wearer. It is a baby size, which holds 5-18 kg (roughly 11-40 pounds). My 16.5 pound daughter fit well and was comfortable with plenty of room to grow. This carrier is a full conversion from a woven wrap, so it is very soft and floppy. It has a padded waistband and slim padded straps that were very comfortable on my narrow shoulders. In contrast, the newer Lenny Lamb "Wrap Tai" has wide, flat wrap straps which are unpadded. (Fidella and Soul meh dais have hybrid straps with a padded rail as well as a wide portion.) There is a non-detachable hood that can be pulled up and secured to the shoulder straps for head support for older babies during naps.
I am a fairly petite build and the shoulder and waist straps fit me well, but I would recommend trying on to make sure you get a good fit. For reference, the waist band is 74" and shoulder straps are 80". On the Soul meh dai the waistband is 96" and shoulder straps are 85".
We used this meh dai for a few short walks to the grocery store and around the neighborhood, but it is comfortable enough for me that I would bring it on a hike. This is one of my favorite meh dais that I have tried, and I highly recommend checking it out!
