Q&A with Kristin Frost |
How long have you been a photographer and what inspired you to go into this field?
For the past 8 years I have been a professional photographer serving the greater Columbus area. I have a formal fine art education but truly fell in love with photography when I began capturing friends families moments. My passion lies in motherhood, locking those moments in your season for you to enjoy for years to come. Because time flies, memories fade & it is a luxurious gift to be able to look back on your heirloom legacy as well as to pass it on. What are your favorite backdrops when taking pictures? Simple and complimentary to each client. My goal is to showcase my client and not focus on the extras that can be distracting. Greater Columbus has a vast selection of outdoor locations to choose from, if the location speaks to my client, has a precious memory to it --- that is that extra layer that I LOVE and makes for a gorgeous gallery. What funny tricks have you found that work when photographing children/babies? BE PATIENT and take care of momma! Mom has spent time preparing everyone for this session --- the family feeds off of momma's energy, so by taking care of her helps everything run smooth. Babies just want to be comfortable, fed & dry. The littles...just be silly & sweet, having something for them to hold is always a bonus! Tell us more about your interests or pastimes? When my 4 kiddos and I are not out on an adventure...I enjoy reading, painting, crafting and spend way too much time on Pinterest. I am also a MOPS Ohio Coach, love my mom tribe! Are you familiar with baby wearing? If you are a caregiver have you baby wore? What carriers do you prefer? I was a babywearing momma. I started 12 years ago with a Baby Bjorn on my front and a wrap on my back. I have worn a variety of styles & brands over the years, my absolute favs were my Meh Dai, Boba, & 360 Ergo Baby. Why did you decide to partner with CBW? I was a babywearing mother. Being a mother of multiples & a large family, babywearing was a complete God-send for my day to day routine and keeping those babies close. This group of babywearers in Columbus, as well as traveling outside of our Cbus bubble, we are a community of kind & loving parents - a community I am proud to support.
