Tell us a bit about yourself (where you’re from, what your hobbies are, etc.) I enjoy hiking, mountain biking, play outside with my kids and breastfeeding support. What does a day in your life look like with your job/pursuits? My day job is land development engineer designing new roadway, sanitary sewer, stormwater controls, and water mains for new development areas. Tell us about your family (significant other, children, fur children, other pets, etc) Married to my husband George, two children (Kaden -5 yrs, Audrey-18 mos). Fur baby-Thor. |
My mom was a babywearer and made sure I had a baby carrier.
What do you love about babywearing?
Babywearing is my main parenting tool. I use it everyday from nap time, supporting a child who always wants help, and providing a safe space when you're out in a busy space.
Which one of your carriers do you use the most and what do you love about it?
I use a ring sling from birth through toddlerhood. With my first child I used a SSC a lot in toddlerhood, but with my second child I have really come to like onbuhimos and the higher back carry.
Tell us about your main role within the CBW Leadership Team?
I am Saturday/Grove City leader and Policy and Procedures Committee Chair.
What additional role(s) do you have within the CBW Leadership Team?
Members will also see me a meh dais and onbuhimos at the Saturday Meet Up as well as organizing community involvement events like Babies and Bumps and member playdates/hikes (starting again this summer).
What drew you to become a leader for our community?
I love peer to peer support groups for new caregivers. I wanted to make sure there were enough leader to ensure that meetings continued to accessible to different areas around Columbus.
What activity are you most likely to rely on babywearing to get done?
I hate having strollers in busy areas or loading it up into my car so babywearing is usually my go to when we are out and about.
What skill do you hope to master over the next year? (does not have to be babywearing specific but it *can* be)
I am looking forward to learning how to design and reestablish wetlands as an effective stormwater treatment method.
