I would definitely recommend MJ baby size as a newborn to toddler carrier. It was easy to use and comfortable. The straps and panel size are similar to a Tula. The waistband is wider and has adjusters on both sides like a kinderpack, which is something I like. The baby size is an adjustable panel so NO INSERT needed. Major plus. I liked having pfas (perfect fit adjusters) on the straps and on the top of the panel to shrink it down to accommodate the demo doll. The width is adjusted by cinching and securing with Velcro. I'm not a big fan of Velcro but it did surprisingly stay in place really well. If the demo doll had knees, she would have been perfectly knee to knee, but the panel was a bit high still.  I also tried with my toddler who is 2, in 2t pants for length and knocking on the door of 25 pounds (yeah, little) and I found the fit similar to a standard size Tula but comfortable.
